Dear Customer, As we approach the end of 2023, we’d like to thank all Independent Freight Group customers for your continued loyal support. We have made significant inroads in developing each facet of our business which is clearly shining through in terms of the services we offer. It has not been without its challenges in terms of costs and, in particular, cost of living increases which have hit us all very badly. With the exception of fuel, we have absorbed all these additional costs in the hope that they subside quickly in 2024. We have developed and implemented our ESG strategy fully in 2023 and have replaced 65% of our forklifts with environmentally friendly electric machines. We have the first of our 18 tonne rigid trucks coming in January to trial, and once it is fully tested in our system we will roll these out further across our locations. Our home delivery business in conjunction with one of our largest clients has rolled out 10 electric vans which have replaced diesel units. These, I am glad to say, are working very well. We are also changing all company vehicles to electric as they come to change. 2024 will be an exciting year for us in Independent Freight Group. Not only will it be our 40th year in business, but we’ve also put in place an excellent European service. The service works, our prices are very competitive, and our European Groupage team are waiting for any queries you may have. As in recent years, this Christmas we’re supporting people who may require a little extra help, especially at this time of year. We’ve decided to continue in our support for St Vincent de Paul, Alone, Cork Penny Dinners, and Capuchin Day Centre. We have received very appreciative letters from the charities, and we thank you for your support. Finally I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a safe, happy and peaceful Christmas. We look forward to being your logistics and transport provider in 2024. Regards, Eamon Sullivan Group Chief Executive |
